Original work acrylic on canvas, V.K.White Collection, Healdton, Oklahoma. After graduating college, I went looking for inspiration and found it outside the gift shop at Mt. Rushmore. The most beautiful Indian man was playing the drum while shaking a rattle with his hair blowing in the wind of a fan set before him. His name was Moses and he was playing with a band called Airo...the whole band was beautiful and their music also!!!
About Virginia White
Born and raised in a pecan bottom Oklahoma, I grew up with a love for nature and the land. Of Cherokee, Creek and Coushatta Indian decent, along with English, Irish and Spanish, a veritable American soup. I have always had a deep compassion for the American Indians since an early age, a time when most folks were not encouraged to claim any native ancestry. However I feel a deep spiritual connection to all my relatives, the two legged, four legged, winged, crawling, the green, water, fire, our earth mother and sky father. I live my life guided by Spirit and try to show compassion, gratitude & respect for all.
